On any given Sunday, here are the types of things that one very patient golden retriever named, Zoe, is putting up with from her person, Ada. Ada went off with a butterfly net in search of butterflies. Zoe went with her, of course. Butterflies proved to be too hard to catch, but not so Zoe.

Isn’t she lovely?

I’ve been working on Katie’s images and thought I’d post a couple of favorites from her session. Katie is not a senior yet, but her mother, Melinda, scheduled a session because Katie is going to get her hair cut much shorter. Katie’s family brought along her dog, Millie, who has been watching over Katie since she was a little girl. I laughed when I saw that Millie had a perfect “camera smile” in most of her pictures.

During one of my rained out sessions this week I took some photos of chives gone wild in the herb bed.

We had fun. We shot photos in the natural light studio of David with his dog, Kelly, of David with his cowboy hat and six shooters and of David in his blue sweater flashing his baby blues at the camera. Afterwards, we went for a walk and I found out that David is a big fan of sticks and puddles. Of course, what’s not to love about sticks and puddles?

Here’s a session I’m working on now. Dale has been in Iraq since last summer. He got to come home to see his brand new son, Grant, for a couple of weeks, then he’s headed back to Iraq until Thanksgiving. Jennifer grew up on the other side of the creek from where I grew up, but I didn’t meet her until last summer when she called to see if I could help her with some wedding photos taken by another photographer. Wrigley is their one year old labradoodle.

Just worked these up for myspace and Facebook and though I’d add them here. Morgan did a great job in her first session as a senior model. If you have a Facebook account and are a 2009 senior, become a fan of Britt Bailey Photography to get 16 free wallets from your session and three images for your Facebook account. Plus, you’ll be the first to know about any sales and promotions I run throughout the year.

I’m making a calendar for my sisters and Mother this year with family members birthdays and anniversaries on it. May featured Ada and my mother’s puppy, Annie, who showed up in Mom and Dad’s barn the eve of Mom’s birthday. And, no, I had nothing to do with that even though I knew Mom was looking for a dog.

We got to babysit Annie (who my daughter calls, “Goldie”) for two weeks this spring and we all had big fun together.  Our dog, Zoe, surely one of the most patient golden retrievers on the planet, bore the brunt of the babysitting duties and basically served as an 80 pound chew toy during Annie’s visit.

The circus came to town a couple of weeks ago and Ada and I went with some playgroup friends and my camera. I had fun trying out the high iso capabilities of my new camera. It was DARK in there, but the camera performed beautifully.

Welcome to my new site!

Here are some progress pics of my new natural light studio located just outside my regular studio. Those who know me know I love natural light ,so the new studio is my favorite place to shoot. It is still a work in progress, but it is already chocked full of new backdrops.

One of the reasons I love natural light so much is that I’ve found people seem more relaxed in a natural light environment than in a studio environment, with strobes firing at them everytime the camera clicks. I still love to mix in studio work with natural light work, but I tend now to think of those images as the “artificial” ones and to push either a glamour edge or to generate what I think of as “traditional” studio images.

On her fifth birthday, my daughter, Ada and I planned a photo shoot in the new natural light studio including her dalmation collection. She hopes to collect 101, and it seems she’s well on her way.
